The "D" word.

The dreaded "D" word. Ack.... I don't even want to say it.
diet1
n
1. (Medicine)
a.  a specific allowance or selection of food, esp prescribed to control weight or in disorders in which certain foods are contraindicated a salt-free diet a 900-calorie diet.
I have to say I haven't tried them all, but I have tried a bunch of them. I tried the liquid diet, the diet where you only take in food that is liquid form. Did that for about 2 weeks and thought I was gonna die without the T!! I have tried the diets that have you eat their foods, and that's all good, but eventually I had to eat something else lol. I have tried the cabbage diet, the grapefruit diet, thought about trying the ice cream diet, but that one just sounded to good to be true. I tried the infamous shots from Mexico (was only brave enough to do that once). I have tried countless different diet pills. Yes the weight would come off, but I didn't change the right thing and the pounds came back and they usually brought friends!
So here I am, I have a game plan for changing my life. So very grown up of me if I do say so myself. In a few months I am going to be 40, and I sure don't want my 40's to be fat. I want them to be fit and fabulous. Well ok no matter what I'm going to be fabulous :) So I'm calling this my lifestyle change not the dreaded "D" word, because I don't want to go on anything that has the word DIE in it!!

  1. Good choice. I myself hate the word diet and like you I have done every diet out there. Yes the weight came off but as soon as I started eating again it came back on double the amount. So, I am starting today to start walking and incorporating some excercise daily with portion control. Good luck!

  5. Go for it Mickey. Take each day as it comes and never beat yourself up over anything to do with food. I am trying this year too.
